Ender’s Game loses Wolfgang Peterson

The movie adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s classic sci-fi novel Ender’s Game  has just lost another director. Wolfgange Peterson, director of Das Boot, and A Perfect Storm, was attached to direct the film, however after a lengthy pre-production he has dropped the project. Producers are still working on the film and hope that it will begin production in early 2009.

Science Fiction blog iO9 is asking who should star as the child prodigy Ender in the film? They should also be asking who would play Bean, the other character who will play a large roll as Orson Scott Card’s script is apparently a combination of both Ender’s Game and the accompanying novel Ender’s Shadow, which centers around the younger child Bean, and his life parallel to Ender Wiggin.
